Education Department & Y-Care?

The Community Education Department provides health education presentations to youth and adults in community settings, including alternative and mainstream schools. Presentation topics include sexuality, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, contraception, reproduction/anatomy, self-esteem, communication, relationships, peer/social pressure, refusal skills, and decision-making. Y-CARE? Peer Education Program is comprised of thirty peer leaders recruited from high schools countywide. Peer Educators provide educational presentations and perform the Teen Mommalogues play on teen pregnancy prevention at local public schools and public venues. Bilingual educator is available upon request.
