Child Care Training Projects

Quality training opportunities have been designed to offer assistance to Trustline/license exempt providers, center based staff, licensed family child care providers and providers who are interested in caring for children with special needs. The training projects offer opportunities to attend workshops, home visits for technical assistance and resources to help providers with the children in their care. Participants who are interested in becoming a licensed family child care provider will be supported and guided through the licensing process. Trainings and workshops have been designed with specific emphasis on serving and including children with special needs. These trainings are offered throughout the county in order to better educate providers on caring for children with special needs, and to create a system of support between providers and local community agencies.

Infant and toddler child care slots are in great demand in our county. The Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP) is a training project designed to recruit and assist individuals who plan to care for infants and toddlers with the licensing process. In turn, this will increase the number of child care slots available for infants and toddlers. Participants in this project will receive training and incentives that will help them start their family child care business. Home visits, technical assistance, licensing assistance, and training are all offered through the Child Care Initiative Project.
